Fidelity Bank is a full-fledged commercial bank operating in Nigeria, with over 7.2 million customers who are serviced across its 250 business offices and various other digital banking channels.
Focused on select niche corporate banking sectors as well as Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Fidelity Bank is rapidly implementing a digital based retail banking strategy which has resulted in exponential growth in savings deposits over the last 12 years, with over 57 percent customer enrollment on the Bank’s flagship mobile/internet banking products.
The approach
As a UX/UI Designer at Fidelity Bank, I spearheaded the redesign of the bank's native application, aiming to enhance user experience and streamline digital banking services for over 7.2 million customers across Nigeria. This project focused on optimizing the application's design system, refining user flows, and collaborating closely with the development team to ensure successful implementation.

Description
In my capacity as a UX/UI Designer for the Fidelity Bank Native Application project, I played a pivotal role in developing the application from scratch, shaping its trajectory from inception to fruition. My primary contributions encompassed establishing a robust design system, crafting intricate user flow charts, executing UX/UI design, and fostering seamless collaboration with the development team.
The creation of a comprehensive design system laid the foundation for consistency and coherence in visual elements and user experience, essential for building trust and recognition among Fidelity Bank's 7.2 million customers. Through meticulous user flow charts, I unearthed invaluable insights into user behaviors, guiding the design process toward prioritizing usability and accessibility.
My collaboration with the development team ensured the successful translation of design concepts into functional features, fostering alignment between design and implementation. This harmonious partnership resulted in the delivery of a native application that surpassed expectations, propelling Fidelity Bank's digital banking strategy to new heights. The outcome was marked by heightened user engagement, satisfaction, and retention, driving significant customer enrollment and solidifying Fidelity Bank's position as an industry leader in digital banking innovation from the ground up.
